Welcome to Jacob’s Well. This worshipping community began meeting on Easter Sunday 2006. We meet each Sunday at 11a.m. in the sanctuary at Trinity. You are invited to come to the Well. We meet on Sunday mornings at 11a.m. Located at the corner of 3rd and Bohemia Ave in South Chesapeake City, Maryland 21915. Click here for directions.
Our worship style is casual and contemporary- jeans and shorts are the norm. The music is rock style, led by our band. The message flows through multi-media. You will also be invited to visit different “stations” in the last part of worship as you feel led, where you can kneel in prayer, receive Holy Communion, and offer yourself to God...or simply focus on the music.
Our name comes from John 4. This is a story in which Jesus goes to Jacob’s Well and meets a Samaritan woman. He offers her “living water.” This story is significant because Jesus is speaking to a woman, who comes from a neighboring culture that is abhorred by Jews, and thus breaking all sorts of social norms. We try to follow in Jesus’ footsteps of welcoming everyone… no matter who they are, where they’re from, what they’ve done, all are welcome at Jacob’s Well. We don’t believe in the myth that only people who have their lives together belong in church. In truth, the opposite is the good news. Jesus offers living water to anyone who is thirsty.

What about making a commitment to God’s community here?
At the Easter Vigil each year we receive new members and confirm youth. (Additional opportunities are scheduled a few additional times per year.) Going back to the earliest days of the Church, this is when new converts were baptized and received into the community of faith. We will again receive folks who want to profess faith in Christ, or recommit to Christ, and become a member of this community of faith. In preparation for membership, a person commits to living as a disciple of Jesus Christ, worshipping weekly, serving others, growing spiritually by being a part of a small group, praying regularly, giving God a tithe (ten percent), and sharing Christ's love. In preparation, we ask that you participate in at least one of the following and attend a one time orientation:
- The Walk to Emmaus (spiritual retreat weekend) Contact the office 410-885-5641 or office@trinitytownpoint.com
- Pariticpate in a small group like Beginnigs or Simply Christian, or a Covenant Discipleship group. Groups are led on Thursday nights at 7p.m. after community dinner at 6p.m. as well as throughout the week at our sister church, Trinity.
