Welcome to Camp Joy

Chesapeake City United Methodist Charge is on a new mission. We are offering summer camp fun along with faith based singing and story. Camp is an all day adventure for kids age 3-11. Summer 2011 will be our third summer. Camp is a wonderful opportunity for summer fun for our children.

Plans for Summer 2011 have not yet been formed. But you can read below about our 2010 Summer Program to gain some understanding of this ministry.

With a program that includes academic refreshers combined with fun summer play, spiritual development and other activities in a beautiful and spacious location, CCUMC Camp Joy is committed to being a blessing to our community. By offering this program at a cost well below “typical” day camp settings, we can alleviate some of the financial stresses that are being felt by so many within our community.

Nestled among farms, marinas and waterfront communities on Port Herman Road near Chesapeake City, Town Point United Methodist Church, the location of Camp Joy, has a bright, open sanctuary overlooking the beautiful rural landscape.

Tuition/Registration Information

Tuition $125.00 per week, 10% discount for siblings.
One time Registration fee per camper $50
1st week of camp tuition and registration fee is due at the time of registration.
Subsequent payments must be made by the Friday before the next time your child is scheduled for camp.

Camp hours are 9am—3pm

Before and after care are available from 7:30am—9:00am and 3:00-5:30 for no additional fee. Extended care must be arranged at the time of registration.

6/21-6/25	Wild West— Wanted: kids with lots of energy. Yeeha! Get ready for a rootin' tootin' good time!
6/28-7/2	Get Fit— How high can you jump? How low can you crawl? How fast can you run to GET FIT?
7/6-7/9	Around the World in 80 4 days — Join us on a trip around the world in four days. Leave your bags at home! Discover a new country each day and be back home for dinner.
7/12-7/16	Fine Arts — Bring your creativity to spot light your talents or learn new things through art, music, dance and drama.
7/19-7/23	Mystery Week—Camp is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get unless you come and check us out this week!
7/26-7/30	Knights and Princesses — Travel back to Medieval Times when bravery and beauty were knights and princesses.
8/2-8/5	Animal Planet— Think you know everything about animals? Think again. Act like a monkey and high tail on in for a howling good time!
8/9-8/13	Pirates— Ahoy matey! Help find the gold or walk the plank! But be ready for a swashbuckling good time!
8/16-8/20	Game Show Mania— Come on Down! You're the next contestant at Camp Joy! Games, prizes, fun and end of summer celebration guaranteed!
* Camp will be closed on 7/5/2010 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Tuition will be prorated.
