Trinity UMC
Traditional Worship 9:00 a.m.
Sunday School All Ages 10:15 a.m.
Contemporary Worship 11:00 a.m.
Located at the corner of Bohemia Ave. and Third Street in Chesapeake City, all of the worship services of our church family are now within the walls of Trinity. This change has been put in place, moving all three of our campuses into one, so that we can build greater community and unity and expand our children's and youth ministries, and thus live out our mission and vision.
We offer traditional and contemporary style worship in our sanctuary. Betwen 10-11a.m. we have fellowship hour in the fellowship hall. Sunday School for all ages begins at 10:15. Adults are encouraged to join a class either in Rm. 2 downstairs or at designated areas in the hall. Alternately, adults may prefer to spend time continuing in conversation and fellowship with coffee.
While parking is a bit of a challenge on the streets immeditaley surrounding Trinity, there is ample parking 2 blocks away beneath the bridge, near the Elementary school on Third street. In addition, for people with mobility challenges, there are 2 designated handicap spots in front, as well as 7 additional spaces set aside each Sunday morning for people who cannot make the 2 block walk. Look for signs that says "no parking" with a wheelchair pictured. Legal tags are not required for these spaces- only a need for a space close to the door.
We serve the community with worship, Sunday school, small groups, and many community outreach programs to our neighbors in and around Chesapeake City MD and around the world. We welcome you to join us for worship and any of our ministries. We are alive in Christ, with people of all ages active in the life of the church.
During worship services, nursery and children's church for infants, toddlers, and children through grade 3 is offered in Rm. 1.Children are also very much welcome in worship at any age. Many parents find they would rather keep their infants and children with them during worship and we welcome their joyful noise.
We have many mid-week opportunities throughout the year for bible study and faith development. See our "Study" link on the home page for a schedule of short and long term study events. Our choir and our praise band are always welcoming new voices and instruments.
During the summer Trinity is the location of the Chesapeake City Ecumenical Association Vacation Bible School. The church building also houses the CCEA food pantry. We have a free fellowship lunch at the "Kanal Kitchen" on the last Saturday of every month for anyone in need of food and/or fellowship. No reservations needed, just drop in at noon. Click on the "Outreach" link on the home page to learn more about our service in mission.
