Vision

Trinity UMC, Town Point UMC, Jacob's Well

Mission Statement:
What is our task?

Our mission is to make disciples by inviting, developing, and sending people in the name of Jesus Christ through a worshipping, nurturing, and teaching fellowship.

Everything we do should be evaluated to see if it results in inviting, developing, and/or sending people as disciples and whether it contributes to a worshipping, nurturing, and teaching fellowship. Likewise, we will consider organizing using these three areas of our mission.

Vision:
What will we have to become to accomplish our mission?

Multiple Services using Multi-Media Each congregation will offer services which may vary in style and music. This will accommodate a variety of worship styles without eliminating traditional worship. The creative use of visual images, dramatic presentations, and interactive messages will be encouraged. A common theme will be an emphasis on the presence of the Spirit of God.
Multiple Paths to Discipleship The use of both small groups and specific programs will be integral to inviting people to connect with Jesus, developing people spiritually and providing them pastoral care, and sending people into ministry.
Multiple Lay-Led Ministries We will encourage members to take the initiative to meet the needs and concerns of our congregations and communities

Values
What attitudes are necessary to make the vision a reality?

The Holy Spirit is our Source We can not rely on our own power, but must depend on God and God's leading.
The Bible is our Foundation The Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit of God and contains all things necessary for Salvation. It is our foundation for Christian living.
God answers Prayer We place our trust in God through individual and congregational prayer.
All Christians are Ministers The responsibility for spiritual leadership is assumed by both laity and clergy.
Excellence with Authenticity Our purpose in making disciples is to glorify God, not to make ourselves or our church look good. That requires excellence, but that excellence must be grounded in the mission of Jesus Christ.
No risk, No reward Failures lead to success. We must be willing to try new things if we are to get where we need to be.
Teamwork is essential Jesus said, "Where two or three are gathered, in my name, I am there among them."
Technology is an Asset Technological advances are not to be feared or shunned, but are tools to be used for the mission.
